The Spa Village Tanjong Jara is a sanctuary anchored in this ancient Malay way of life. It is a wellness paradise where long held health and beauty traditions are revived.
Unique natural ingredients found in various indigenous herbs and plants are combined with the skills of the resident Malay healers to provide a very special health and beauty experience.
Each day starts with a rejuvenating walk on the beach or a Sucimurni exercise (various poses comprise of specific postures that help with muscle firmness and overall wellbeing) to wake up the senses. The day is then followed by a series of interesting and educational activities which cover all aspects of a getaway of this nature. Therapies and spa treatments featured in this programme, while both pampering and relaxing, are designed to specifically focus on women's health and beauty needs; encompassing the natural evolution of the female body as it changes with age, climate and environmental stresses. Guests will be able to learn the art of Malay healing through scheduled classes such as Traditional Malay Massage, Body Scrub, Rendam-Rendam (Sitz Bath), Malay Healing and Healthy Malay Cooking.
Guests will indulge in daily spa treatments as part of the programme – Malay Body Massage, Rendam-Rendam, Tuam Pasir Body Treatment (Heated Sea Sand Therapy) and Roselle Body Treatment.
Through the healing classes and spa treatments, guests will be able to comprehend the history and methods of these treatments.
This programme will not be complete without leisure activities and shopping for the ladies. The scenic coastal town of Dungun is the backdrop for the bicycle tour and a visit to the morning market gives guests first hand knowledge on how to choose the freshest ingredients for their culinary classes to come at the resort. The cooking class will expose guests to the simple art of preparing nutritious and tantalising local dishes. The resort offers a glimpse of rural village life in Malaysia and the town through the handicraft tour where guests can witness local artisans create traditional arts and crafts. The programme is available from May 17 to 21, 2010 and November 8 to 12, 2010. For the month of May, it is priced at USD2,400++ and USD3,800 for single and double occupancy respectively. In November it is priced at USD1,900++ and USD3,300++ for single and double occupancy respectively.
The rates include accommodation in a Bumbung Room, daily meals, spa treatments, activities, classes/lectures and turn down amenities.
